attended the Business Executives Roundtable meeting
in Washington D.C. on April 30, 2001, hosted by Pakistan's
Ambassador Dr. Maleeha Lodhi. Guest speaker was Mr.
Shaukat Aziz, Finance Minister of Pakistan who spoke
on changes in the government structure and how the
government plans to work with the business community
to encourage investment opportunities in Pakistan.

Lodhie spoke on a number of issues that are of
concerns to the members….such as the quality
of products are not consistent and US-Pakistani companies
also feel a threat to their success due to late shipments.
Lodhie also explained how the PABE association
members will be working to promote the tremendous potential
for investment opportunities as well as being a mentoring
resource for business leaders in Pakistan and the United
States.
Lodhie
emphasized that Pakistani American business leaders can
bring great value to Pakistan's economic growth. Pakistani
American business leaders have experience, skill and
knowledge and have used this resource to establish successful
businesses that have contributed billions of dollars
to the America economy.
