Nafisa Shah Assumes Charge as NCHD Chairperson

ISLAMABAD: MNA Nafisa Shah has assumed the charge of National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) chairperson.

Addressing senior management of the NCHD after assuming the charge, Nafisa Shah thanked President Asif Ali Zardari, who is also patron of the NCHD, Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani and MNA Faryal Talpur, for giving her an opportunity to lead the NCHD. She said that the NCHD had gone through a difficult time like other government organisations.

She appreciated the efforts of NCHD Chief Operating Officer Zulfiqar Ahmad for uniting the NCHD team despite all odds and for convincing the government to continue the operations of NCHD at the grassroots level.

She said that the NCHD will play a leading support role in the social development of Pakistan and help shape up good practices for strengthening policies in different fields.”
