Strongly Condemns the July 11th Bombings in Mumbai, India
The Pakistani American Leadership Center (PAL-C) which is based in Washington
DC strongly condemns the heinous act of terrorism that was carried out
in Mumbai, India on July 11, 2006. Eight coordinated commuter railway
explosions rocked the city during evening rush hour traffic, killing
at lease 200 people and injuring another 700.
In a statement issued by the U.S. Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice
on Tuesday, July 11th, the United States condemned the “horrific
terrorist attacks in Kashmir and Mumbai”. Rice stated, “Many
people have lost their lives and many others have been injured. Our thoughts
and prayers are with the victims and their families. There is no political
cause that can justify the murder of innocent people. The United States
stands with India in the war against terror. Those responsible for these
terrible acts should be swiftly brought to justice.” PAL-C wholeheartedly
supports Rice and the U.S. government in their condemnation and call
for justice.
PAL-C and the Pakistani American community express their sympathy and
condolence to the victims, their families and friends, as well as the
people of Mumbai. PAL-C is disgusted by the inhumanity and sheer barbarism
of the attacks as well as saddened by the loss of innocent life. On behalf
of the Pakistani American community, PAL-C urges the world community
to join forces to condemn the attacks, their perpetrators and all supporters
of terrorism.
