KARACHI:
The promotion of information technology is the top priority
of the government. This was announced by Sindh Minister
for Information and Technology, Syed Mustafa Kamal, in
a statement on Monday.
He said that
the Sindh IT Department is also doing its best for the
provision of employment opportunities to the jobless graduates
in collaboration with the local and international firms
based in the province.
The minister
further announced that his department would extend full
cooperation in connection with the international moot on
call centres. The two-day conference would be organised
in Karachi on Jan 29 and 30.
Kamal said
that the Sindh IT Department would provide attractive incentives
with regard to the investment in the call centres. Citing
the examples of a number of countries, he pointed out that
the call centres have been providing employment opportunities
to the jobless people there.
The minister
was of the view that with the setting up of call centres,
positive results would start coming and the people would
benefit from these steps. He maintained that in the next
eight years 3.4 million employment opportunities will be
created with the help of international companies.
