KARACHI:
An international conference on ‘Call Centre Investment
Opportunities’ is being organised here on January
29 and 30, 2005 in a bid to attract investment of billions
of dollars in the area of information technology.
Eveready
Communications (Pvt) Limited is organising the conference
in collaboration with the Board of Investment (BoI), Ministry
of Information Technology, Pakistan Software Export Board
and Pakistan Software Houses Association (PASHA).
Federal Minister
of Information Technology Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari is expected
to be the chief guest at the inaugural session of the conference,
aimed at providing the businessmen, entrepreneurs, bankers,
IT professionals and investors with an opportunity to analyse
the success stories of international leaders in the field
of call centre.
It is estimated
the conference will create investment opportunities for
setting up a $50 billion industry in Pakistan with an annual
growth rate of 30 per cent, closely integrated with the
$700 billion e-commerce industry worldwide.

from five different continents are taking part in the conference.

The organisers
of the event are of the view that the conference will play
a major role in putting Pakistan on the roadmap of this
industry, providing excellent training and employment opportunities
for educated class under the guidance of foreign experts.
