- Pakistan,
Turkmenistan and Afghanistan on Friday signed the much-awaited
oil and gas pipeline framework agreement, giving final
nod to go ahead with the project which would provide
first outlet to the hydrocarbon-rich Central Asian
Republics.
- The
government is likely to reduce flour prices to provide
relief to the masses on the directives of Prime Minister.
- Commerce
Minister has directed the Export Promotion Bureau to
provide professional assistance to exporters to meet
the challenges of new World Trade Organization regime.
- Pakistan
agree to cooperate with Afghanistan in re-establishing
centres of information and media in that country.
- The
Federal Government has exempted from customs duty on
the import of buses in Completely Knocked Down (CKD)
condition, whether CNG or diesel, through the Small
and Medium Enterprises Development Authority.
- Leader
of Iranian Trade Delegation said that he would take
up with the Iranian Government the issue of mobilizing
aviation and shipping lines between the two countries
to help promote bilateral trade.
- Minister
for Commerce said that the Government is making efforts
to change its policies towards a growth-related policy
and to build investor confidence.
- Present
elected government is fully committed to extend necessary
support and financial assistance for high priority
areas.
- The
CBR has given duty drawback facility to the exporters
of BOPP films from December 24, 2002.
